Psychological Services
Emma is a Consultant Psychologist with experience in forensic and family court assessments involving children, young people and adults. She has worked across custodial settings (adult and youth), social care services and community provision supporting individuals with learning disabilities and autism. Emma currently holds a Group, Director of Therapeutic Services role within the children’s sector, overseeing provision across care homes and independent schools.
Through Williams Psychological Services, Emma delivers psychologically informed assessment, consultancy and expert witness services across legal, clinical and organisational contexts. Her work is grounded in trauma-informed and relational practice, supporting understanding, decision-making and effective intervention in complex situations.
Williams Psychological Services also provides
supervision for trainee and qualified psychologists to support reflective practice and professional development.
Psychological Assessment
We provide comprehensive psychological assessment to support understanding, formulation and decision-making in complex cases. Our assessments are grounded in psychological theory and evidence, and are tailored to the specific context and referral question.
We work across children’s and adult services, providing clear, structured reports that support planning, risk management and intervention. Our approach prioritises context, relationships and individual need, ensuring that assessments are both meaningful and practically useful.
Expert Witness Services
We offer independent expert witness assessments and reports for courts, local authorities and instructed services. Our work is grounded in professional standards and psychological evidence, with a focus on clarity, objectivity and relevance to proceedings.
We are experienced in working within legal frameworks and producing reports that are clear, balanced and accessible to a range of professional audiences. We understand the importance of timelines, communication and the responsibilities associated with expert witness work.
Supervision & Consultancy
We provide reflective supervision and psychologically informed consultancy for professionals, teams and organisations working in complex and high-risk environments.
Our work supports formulation, decision-making and practice development, helping teams to think clearly about risk, relationships and intervention. We bring a trauma-informed and relational lens, supporting services to develop safe, effective and sustainable practice.
We work across residential care, education, children’s services and adult services including community and secure settings, offering both ongoing and bespoke input.
We also offer supervision for psychologists completing the British Psychological Society Qualification in Forensic Psychology (Stage 2).
